Hi, I'm Nicky!

I'm a visual artist based in Kilkenny, creating work that explores our evolving relationship with land and water. Through layered, atmospheric paintings, I reflect on the deep history of Irish landscapes, how they’ve been shaped, scarred, and sometimes slowly healed by human hands.

My ongoing series focuses on the quiet power of place: ruins of castles, lighthouses, and former centers of human activity now surrendered to time. These remnants stand as markers of industry, farming, mining, and fishing, cycles of use and neglect. Around them, the land persists: wounded, but alive.

I’m especially interested in the environmental impact of our actions today, from the presence of microplastics in Irish waters to the broader consequences of climate change and biodiversity loss. My work is both a reflection and a call to notice, to protect, and to reconnect with the landscapes that hold our shared history.
